A new pellet miil is planned for the site of the former Gilman paper mill , reusing some of the existing assets and providing jobs for 21 new roles. The plant is designed at a “community scale" using local materials within a 30 mile radius at sustainable levels, and using the existent infrastructure of loggers and truckers. The plan is for a 30,000-ton, super premium-grade softwood pellet mill.
